Simon is an investor and entrepreneur with extensive experience in real estate and alternative investments. He started his career in the New York and London offices of Morgan Stanley, and also was a partner at a multi-billion dollar multi-strategy hedge fund before founding Granite Oak. Simon is a member of Milken's Institute Young Leaders Circle and is a CFA charterholder. He received his BS from the University of Virginia and is an avid skier.
Pádraig is responsible for managing Granite Oak’s portfolio of real estate investments and development pipeline. Pádraig has over twenty years’ experience in the construction and property industry in Ireland and the UK. He is a Member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
Scott leads our venture capital business. He is a former partner at Mohr Davidow Ventures, a $2 billion venture capital fund in Silicon Valley. Scott has previously worked at Google and Facebook, as well as at Harvard University and the White House. He is the author of a best-selling book on startups, and has a BA from Stanford University, as well as an MBA and MA from Columbia University.
Hannah Nguyen leads our Southeast Asian investment operations. She is a venture capital and growth investor with over 10+ years experience in the region, having previously worked at Omidyar Network (the investment firm of eBay founder Pierre Omidyar) and Digital Media Partners. Native Vietnamese, Hannah is deeply passionate about financial services and driving financial inclusion through tech investments in frontier markets. She has a BS in International Business & Finance from San Francisco State University.
Nikolaus is CFO of Development 8, responsible for financial management and financing relationships. Nikolaus worked most recently at Morgan Stanley’s Leveraged & Acquisition Finance team in London, where he advised clients in the execution of debt financings in the European private and public debt markets. He holds a degree in Technical Physics from Vienna University of Technology.
Bettina is an English qualified lawyer withover 15 years practice experience. Throughout her career, Bettina has worked in finance, banking and capital markets at Morgan Stanley, Ropes & Gray, Baker & McKenzie, and Guggenheim Partners. Bettina has a BA from King’s College, London, and a degree from BPP Law School.
